Making a wooden door

Did it fool you? Today's Weird Wednesday is this faux bois or hand painted wood finish door. It's hard to see at first, but note the chips in the paint and the way the light reflects off the surface. See how the wood grain is completely smooth under the light? On an unpainted wood door, the grain pattern will show its texture when lit from the side. This particular is a really good example of a well-done faux finish. No, it's not oak, but it's a beautiful historic finish nonetheless! #historicho
