The first step after we get these giant slabs out of our kiln to bring them down to the appropriate moisture content, is then getting them dead flat. They show up pre-sanded from the mill in Costa Rica but unfortunately they’re not exactly flat, our 6‘ x 12’ @avidcnc machine makes easy work of it although not super quick because we’re only taking about 1/8” per pass.
