There are a few putative survivor American Chestnut trees growing in Philadelphia, but they’ve never been tested. I’m sending in a sample of two nearby trees to the PA/NJ chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation! In ~2 months, we should know more about the tree and if it’s actually a resistant American chestnut, or a hybrid of some sort.
