2013年5月24日 · P.S. I called and spoke to a Chemical Engineer at tech support for Chevron to see if they make a 75W-85 (GL-5). He made three things clear: 1) Chevron does not make a gear oil suitable for my truck (75W-85). 2) The weight spec'd by the manufacturer should be followed to the letter. 3) Long term, it does matter if you use the wrong oil.

Our 2019 Santa Fe specs 75w-85 in the transfer case and rear diff. In the past I have used 75w-90. I was wondering if you all think the 90 weight would be better for longevity VS .005 mileage increase for the 85. Thanks I have same dilemma. I wanna use Redline, but Redline offers 75W85 for TC and differentials, while Toyota wants 75W90.

2011年6月1日 · Hello everyone. The owners manual of my Nissan says to use OEM Nissan 75W-85 GL-4 gear lube. Well that stuff is $20 a quart from the dealer. Yes it is cheaper online but when you add S&H it is still $20 a quart. Redline makes MT85 at $17 a quart. Amsoil makes an MTF 75W-90 for $11 a quart.
