My PS3 is HDMI 1, PVR is HDMI 2 etc. Switch on TV, turn to DVI (that's where your HDMI out wire from Receiver goes to), switch to HDMI 1 on Receiver and it just plays with video and sound. No muss no fuss. Actually I have a Logitech Harmony.
