The full story is that prior to the STG buyout, Thompson was incredibly predatory, saturating clients with ads and making canceling clubs or recurring orders harder than quitting a gym. STG looked at the numbers and saw a thriving club business and bought them out. What they didn't see was how those numbers got there and the ill will it caused.
Anyone get this in the mail? Had anyone tried Thompson Cigars?
Thompson is a company of ill-repute and their "great deals" are just shit to peddle. Lets assume that the humidor costs $4 to make and that the lighter costs $3. 12 cigars for $22 so less than $2 per stick and they are still making profit on this somehow.

2013年6月6日 · If I had to really dig for problems, one time I ordered a five-pack of corona gordas, and they sent me the exact same cigar, but in the Churchill vitola. As it was the same cigar, just bigger, I couldn't really complain, and if I really wanted to complain, I could just smoke the first 5.58" of the cigar and pitch the last 1.5".

As far as the Thompson thing goes, they have screwed me out of more money than I could've imagined when I bought my first sampler from them. (especially if you count overdraft fees from an old bank account I used to have) It would be great for a few folks to do write ups about cigar cites and have a wiki entry about it for reference.

I saw a ad in a mailer for 20 cigars a lighter cutter and a humidor. This is what got me into cigars a few months ago. One cigar in the original order I liked so much I bought a box. Victor Sinclair double maduro. Couldn't find them anywhere else but Thompson cigars. No issues with ordering.
