2013年11月17日 · I have replaced the front struts & now have a broken bearing plate (mounting plate) at the top of the strut/spring assembly. I can't find one anywhere; even the local parts store & internet treat it like it doesn't exist. Where do I find one? I know it exists, I saw it when I changed the struts. Any help here would be GREATLY appreciated!

2013年12月17日 · replaced the right strut with the new one from Unity. Had a much more robust nut on the top. THe left side has been staying tight so i wasn't worried about replacing it right away. Now the bearing plate on the left side gave way and the strut rod pushed thru and is about 3-4 inches above the strut tower under the hood.

2014年12月28日 · Naturally the strut itself is shot - rusted like it's been sitting on the deck of the Titanic. I don't know if the bearing seats and bearings themselves are good / can still be reused. The ball bearings are only 1/8" diameter, might be 2 or 3 dozen of them, and the upper and lower bearing races aren't anything substantial.

2021年9月16日 · Concur with the assessment Shop #1 is likely responsible. While it's technically possible to replace the wheel bearings with the knuckle on the car, it's generally easier to pull the knuckle and use a proper shop press to remove and install the hub & bearing. Take a look at the outer tie rod end on the passenger side.

2022年1月9日 · I left after we tacked the bar to the strut plates. Lucky, the 1/8 inch plates still leave plenty of strut bolt protruding for the regular nuts. I will pick up the final product tomorrow. Here's a shot of the strut plate he cut from my plastic pattern. (No tab sticking out, as bar/pipe in my new pattern will meet flush.)

2016年6月25日 · BTW, in my van strut 2.002 photo, there is a bracket with a hole and a rectangle (sort of like a key hole) in the lower RH corner. Is that for lifting the body off? One doesn't exist on the passenger's side so it's function has me guessing. It is just sitting out there in thin air and mounted off the side of the fender.
