This is part of a large project I’ve been working on for nearly three years. This collection contains many sounds that give us clues about how sound effects were created during the “golden era”.

2023年3月10日 · The “SSE” sound effects come from the Sunset Editorial collection which was donated to USC Cinema in 1990. Sunset Editorial had a low-key history in Hollywood. Not a lot is known about them. This is because their credits in films were usually just “Sound Effects — Sunset Editorial”. The company was active from about 1964 to 1987.

I called the collection “the Gold Library” because of the color of the old Dyno label-maker tapes on the boxes. Since then, I have continued to preserve the former USC optical sound effects library.
