2010年7月22日 · I prefer the regular bar but they have their place. Some people can't squat with a regular bar due to shoulder issues or something & they can with the ssb. If doing a westside template, they give you another ME SQ/DL option. I think I'm a little different here because the ssb actually aggravates my bad shoulder whereas the regular bar doesn't.

You could make the argument that an alternative bar is preferable for certain populations, but unless you own and operate a gym, it's far easier to modify a normal bar (straps) than it is to buy a different bar.

Shoulder Problems For someone with a shoulder problem, the Safety Squat Bar and Top Squat might be good squatting solutions. Belt Squats The best auxiliary exercise (for me) is the Belt Squat.
