2018年8月30日 · I tried using med & high 30mm Weaver rings and mocked up my 4.5-14x40 scope tonight. I took a couple of pictures (which I can't seem to get posted) showing the clearances. With the medium rings the clearance is minimal, about 1mm clearance between the scope and handguard whereas the high rings gave about 3mm clearance.

This puts the scope center at the same height as the iron sights. The only clearance issue you might run into is a rear fold down sight not fitting underneath the eyepiece.

I would go .87-885, or even up to .92" if yuou ever plan to replce that scope with a 50mm maybe, to make sure you have the height and with the adjustable cheek piece no issue with going a little higher. Sounds like you want a little more height anyways.
