Regardless of how careful one is with installation, this is a weakness of the Leviton 279-S00, and many instances of melted receptacles show melting at the front of a Leviton 279-S00 (not the back where poor installation can cause overheating there).

Poor installation could cause one to fail, I suppose, but people who buy Hubbell/Bryant commercial products tend to use pro installation and/or otherwise do things right.

The 120V just charges at half the speed. My commute is only 10 miles round trip, so the trickle charge is fast enough.

2017年8月2日 · A nema 14-50 is designed for a 50 AMP. circuit breaker and the allowable current draw is recommended to be 40 Amps or lower (a 20% safety current reduction). To draw 40 Amps, I believe 6 AWG wire is recommended. For 32 amps, 8 AWG wire is okay. The "smart Nema 14-50 adapter" supplied by Tesla will limit the current draw to 40 Amps automatically.
