The North County Recreation District is a Special District of Oregon created in 1997 by a vote of the people. We are a small rural district with a big impact serving residents and visitors to our Nehalem Bay Community on the northern Oregon Coast.

Performing Arts Center at NCRD
The NCRD Performing Arts Center has become an important community asset to the North Oregon Coast. Performances that were not possible in a small community are now staged throughout the year in a building dating back to the 1930s.

The District is defined, roughly, as: • South of the Clatsop County Line • North of the Neah-Kah-Nie High School • Residents of Nehalem, Wheeler, and Manzanita, and many surrounding communities are included. The North County Recreation District (NCRD) Performing Arts Center, located at 36155 9th St. in Nehalem, is the heart of our small rural community on the Oregon coast. Originally built as an elementary school in the 1920s, it fell into decline after decades of hard use and was purchased by the District in the early 2000s.
