The Smithsonian's National Zoo is home to two giant pandas named Bao Li and Qing Bao. Male panda Bao Li was born Aug. 4, 2021 and raised at the Shenshuping Base in Wolong, China. Bao Li is descended from Bao Bao, Tian Tian, and Mei Xiang, three pandas who formerly lived at the Smithsonian's National Zoo.
