2024年3月13日 · I bought the ~$20 bushing from the dealer, took it to a shop to be installed and they said they couldn't do it and didn't recommend replacing just the one bushing. I ended up buying a replacement control arm from NAPA, had the shop install it, no issues. Just about one year later, the same type of bushing failed, on the other side of the car.

2021年1月11日 · Little update: ('14-'18) - 2014 - Control Arm Bushing DIY Tips! The inner bushing suddenly failed and basically rendered the car undriveable. Ended up pressing out the bushings. Surprisingly my local Subaru dealer had all 4 bushings in-stock. Used a 1" impact socket to press out the small inner bushing and a 60/70MM cup for the larger rear bushing.

I only drive in the city and on highways. I've never had this problem in any previous vehicle I've owned, some up to 100k or so.

The real question is whether the cracks are just surface checking, or real deep structural cracks that initiate separation and failure.

We living in Philadelphia PA and the roads, pot holes and overall road condition beat up our vehicles, nonetheless, I figured a Subaru would be able to last at least 5 years or more of bushing protection.

2021年12月2日 · I have had the front lower control arm 'rear bushing' done on both our 06 OB and 10 Legacy. In both cases they removed the arm, pressed out the existing bushing and pressed in a new one. Both done through third party garages, not OEM subaru dealer. Very common bush to need replacing on Subarus.
