Lake Point became an incorporated City in 2022 and is located on the south shore of the Great Salt Lake in Tooele County. Lake Point was originally settled in 1854 under the name of E.T. City, in 1923 it was renamed Lake Point.

The name "Lake Point" was later taken from the resort that was built on the nearby southern shore of the Great Salt Lake in the 1870's. Lake Point Community Association (Non-Profit) ( Utah ) assists in the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, 4th of July Breakfast and Lake Point Days.
