Mobile Bay River Bridge & Bayway
Following notification of the grant awards to the Alabama Congressional Delegation, Governor Kay Ivey announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) has awarded a $550 million discretionary grant from the Bridge Investment Program to the Mobile River Bridge and Bayway Project.
The I-10 Mobile River Bridge and Bayway project will expand interstate capacity by adding an alternate route across the Mobile River in addition to the George Wallace Tunnel and building a new Bayway with additional lanes .
