For the resonance part I prefer this, as it’s a butyl product vs asphalt. For the reflection part, I use various foam sheets, attached using contact cement or carpet tape. Thick felt is a good option too.

I consider boat primer to be pretty much ideal. Incredibly tough. Perfect moisture barrier (obviously). Impervious to most solvents. UV resistant. I have experimented with bitumen in two DIY mdf cabinets filled with rockwool , and having bitumen on all of the inside walls made the resonances lower in frequency , and the sound was clearly inferior to the none-bitumen mdf cabinet .
