2017年8月11日 · You need to replace the U-joint bellows. That entire area will fill with water if you don't, resulting in U-joint failure, gimbal bearing failure and/or water intrusion into the drive. The exhaust bellows can (and frequently does) have holes in them (they're manufactured that way)

2011年1月10日 · The main thing when doing the bellows is if you can get the hex head bolts loose that hold the pivot housing to the transom mount. I'd spray PB Blaster or Kroil in the threads if you can get it in there and let it soak in for several days before trying to get them out.

You need to pull the drive. So, if you haven't done the drive bellows in some time, then do that now as well. Check the gimbal bearing to see if it is smooth and free. Same for the drive u-joints. Then verify the lower shift cable adjustment. And, check the engine alignment.

2009年3月4日 · It should be removed at least yearly to inspect bellows, check alignment, lube ujoints and grease splines on the shaft going into the coupler. Once you remove the drive, you can access the snap ring on the aft portion of the exhaust bellows. any way to do it without taking the outdrive off the boat?
