2013年5月5日 · I always pre-cook my apples, I would very surely say that if you are using frozen apples you MUST pre-cook them to drive off some of the moisture. Pre-cooking also allows you to impart more spices and flavour into the apples before baking and it prevents the dreaded 'hollow-pie-shell' that remains after the apples cook down. ----

A good home baked apple pie is the closest thing to perfection I know of. People know I love pie and I've had many well-meaning people make apple pies for me.

Cut them into quarters and the quarters into thirds. The filling is tasty but mushy. I did not add any butter to the filling. Just sugar, flour, and spices with about 1T each lemon and orange juice.
