The HEAT 551 round comprises a nominally 84 mm fin-stabilised (FS) HEAT rocket-assisted projectile (RAP) and a cased propellant charge. The HEAT 551 is designed for use with the Carl Gustaf series of 84 mm recoilless guns, which includes the M1, M2, M3 and M4 models.
The HEAT 655 CS (Confined Space) is the first Carl-Gustaf ammunition that is fully optimized for launch from confined spaces, i.e. from inside a building. It is used against armored targets mainly during urban scenarios.
