2021年9月7日 · I didn't see any in the local stores. I'm checking my options for keeping a craptastic push lawnmower going. Looking online, they only show one small vertical shaft (5.5hp) for $159, but the nearest store is 91 miles away. I'm considering using their engine, because that's cheaper than the cheapest replacement lawnmowers.

2019年6月3日 · It's possible the HF 708cc engine might be coaxed to reliably produce more than the 22HP claimed by Harbor Freight, at least based on its displacement and Loncin's specs. Among the other alternatives, a B&S 810cc engine of claimed 26 HP (claimed 28HP with EFI) would be more attractive, IMO.

2020年4月18日 · I have an old wood chipper and need to do an engine swap. It's a vertical shaft 5HP. It must be >20 years old. I note that there is only one vertical shaft Predator at GHF and its a push mower engine. Quite sure it would not fit. So probably HF cant help me. What would be my options for a cheap replacement engine? Any input appreciated.

But it looks like HarborFreight only sells one vertical shaft option, and it doesn’t make enough power for the application. Can any of the horizontal shaft engines be converted to run on their sides?

2023年3月26日 · My local only has the 5.5 hp vertical shafts right now. If I had to get a lawn/garden tractor vertical shaft in a hurry I'd probably order something from Northern Tool. If price was my primary concern I'd order a Breaks and Scrap 'em (Briggs and Stratton) and just be sure that I was diligent about maintenance.
