This club is owned by the same franchise that owns N. Myrtle Beach and Murrells Inlet Clubs now for 9 years. Anyone know of pro's or con's of this Southport club? 1. I can afford my own boat now. 2. Freedom does not let you take boats to the Bahamas. 3. Scheduling does kind of suck. I am not good at it. 4. Electronic on the Freedom boats can be hit or miss. If your occupation allows you to take boats out during the week then Freedom would be a good fit. On a weekday you can have your pick of the litter.

We are Freedom members in CT. The club is severely over populated with members and boat inventory is very limited. We were unable to secure a single reservation from Fri-Sun during the entire summer. Many of the boats are newer, but poorly maintained. Lot's of broken hatches, switches and electronics.

We looked at Freedom 5 years ago or more- too much hassle with schedules, boat styles and limited hrs. I like to fish for 8 hrs, not 3. and generally not 8-12. more like 5:30-2pm. However, I have a colleague who has a membership in Newburyport and loves it.
