2019年4月23日 · I have not shot that load as I've never wanted or needed more than a 2 3/4" 12 gauge load for Nebraska wild pheasants. But I have dissected and pattern tested their 3" 20 gauge load in the last year, and was disappointed to find that the shot was very aspherical and inconsistent, and was one entire shot size smaller than advertised.

Old favorite was Federal copper long range at 1330. Federal got bought out and came out with new fed premiums at like 1450 and these were overblown terrible ...
Golden Pheasant 28 gauge any similar/copycat loads?
2024年11月3日 · Scheel's might have a store branded pheasant load made for them by Fiocchi. They are virtually the same as the Golden Pheasant but the shot is not nickel plated. I don't know if they make them in 28 ga. I do know they put the 12 ga. on sale from time to time.

2021年9月18日 · Since it's doves here, I prefer clean burning AA heavy target loads 1 oz 7 1/2. The Rio Game Load 1 oz 7 1/2 burns fairly clean, but both of those shells are nowhere to be seen now. So yesterday I found nickel plated Fiocchi Golden Pheasant in 7 1/2 in the area's largest firearms store and scooped up a few boxes to last through January.

2005年2月22日 · I have tried the high velocity Longshot loads, but they pattern poorly in my gun. For late season pheasants, I use the aforementioned Fiocchi "Golden Pheasant" load and a handloaded 2.75" 1400 FPS 1 3/8 oz. load; Fiocchi hull, MG42 wad, 4756 powder and nickel plated 3's. For late season birds where long shots are the rule, they both performed well.

2004年11月4日 · Used both the Fiocchi Golden Pheasants and the above mentioned Federals with success this year. 1500fps on the Federals made me think about the punishing side effects, but to tell you the truth, I couldn't sense any more or less recoil with either load. The only thing I did notice was the Fiocchi's left the bores filthy compared to the Federals.
