Thus survival and learning to live with the disease is possible. Fibrotic NSIP is still considered a poor prognosis, as per IPF, with a longer timeline generally, and a transplant is its only course.

I initially consulted 3 doctors and 2 of them wanted a biopsy done immediately- whereas the third under whose treatment I am currently, said that since the treatment would not be different no matter which NSIP I had based on CT scan, a biopsy was not necessary.

2016年12月17日 · I was diagnosed with NSIP due to autoimmune disease (probably rheumatoid arthritis but without any of the classic symptoms) in November 2013. I have been on azathioprine (Imuran) 150mg for about two and a half years (before that I have been on high doses of Prednisone without much effect except on my weight and face -- very frustrating!).

2016年10月3日 · After his lung transplant eval, we ordered second and third opinions of his biopsy and it came back as fibrotic NSIP. Hubby has nothing else wrong. He tested negative for all autoimmune diseases and is now 48 - diagnosed originally 2 years ago. NSIP has a longer life span and is treatable with Prednisone or other meds. It is not cureable.

2017年10月29日 · Fibrotic NSIP- my husband was diagnosed with this ~ 8 years ago and has been on prednisone for past 6 years. We changed pulmonologists this year and he was also evaluated by Vanderbilt to see if they could provide other treatment options. He’s considered being in severe category of lung function but not severe enough yet for transplant.

2017年5月5日 · I, too, have NSIP-probably fibrotic type- and steroids did not help for long term (had been on them 3 years). Was referred to Pulmonologist at Emory Hospital in Atlanta in their ILD clinic. He immediately put me on Cellcept after another HRCT showed worsening of my lungs.
