2009年2月27日 · My Whirlpool dryer starts, then after a few seconds squeals very loudly, then stops. I have attached a picture with the back off. I also uploaded a seven second video (if you can stand the noise) at YouTube - Dryer Motor. The motor part # is 3395655, model S58NXMLF-6700. Is that the motor? Can I replace it myself (I am pretty handy)?

At the bottom of the front panel, approx. 3 incheds up from the bottom, you"ll need to remove the 2 phillips head screws,and pull out on the bottom of the panel until the top spring clips unclip from the top.

2016年10月26日 · Just to let you know I used your link to get a manual and disassemble our dryer today. My wife and I weren't the original posters on this item, but the problem seemed the same. Turns out is was the idler pulley that puts tension on the belt. I just turned it a little tiny bit by hand, and that distictive squeal could be heard in miniature.
