Deltamethrin is a cyclopropanecarboxylate ester obtained by formal condensation between 3- (2,2-dibromovinyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid and cyano (3-phenoxyphenyl)methanol. It is the active insecticide of the proinsecticide tralomethrin.
