Where as ‘dark magic’ uses supplemented sources, like sacrificing someone for the mana that is released afterwards. The use of dark spells, potions, rituals or whatever, leaves a’mark’ on them.

Imo, dark magic is only evil if it requires suffering to perform or can only inflict suffering (beyond combat purposes).
