2012年5月12日 · I've got both of the old 4116 Leathernecks, my favorite fixed blades, hands down. Used my tanto Leatherneck to process shellfish and slice water bottles, among other things. Super pleased with the quality...but my favorite part of this knife is the handle. My gosh, I don't think it's possible to make a better one!

2009年8月10日 · Getting back to the Leatherneck, Cold Steel had it right with 4116, although AUS8 would have been better had it been offered. There have just been too many QC issues with certain knives ever since Cold Steel mysteriously changed their iconic logo around 2015. Mainly with Taiwanese-produced SK-5 and D2 fixed blades.

2012年6月29日 · In what seems to be a move based on sheer lunacy, Cold Steel has decided to replace the SK-5 steel in its Leatherneck Tanto and SF knives with German 4116 Krupp. I say "lunacy" because the Leatherneck is supposed to compete with some very nice Ka-Bar Marine knives, as well as other, similar, knives.

2011年6月9日 · I have read 2 reviews stating that the Leatherneck may be Cold Steel’s most under rated knife. Supposed to be strong as hell and rival’s the classic Ka-Bar USMC knife. Supposedly made in South Africa? Not sure if that’s true, but if so, I have never owned a South African made knife. Another reason I’m intrigued.

2020年6月22日 · I have the SF placed in a Kabar sheath. Works great. A few millimeters of the ricasso is exposed, but the edge is completely covered and the knife has a snug fit. I personally would go for the SF since it better complements the Kabar archetype aesthetic. If I wanted a tanto, I’d look at other Cold Steel models. Just my two cents though.
