These cylinders are meant to hold 20 lbs of propane @ 80% of the tanks capacity. Blue Rhino is most certainly 'short-filling' their tanks to line their already bulging pockets. Also, Blue Rhino puts a plastic 'sleeve' around its tanks which advocates rapid rusting resulting in an ugly and sometimes unsafe cylinder.

It is more of an eyesore than the propane tank. The one item that lowers property values is CLF. I'd remove that entirely and then plant camouflage around the tank. We use japonica fallopia around ours because it dies back in the winter when we need access to fill the tank, and grows back to fully cover a 200# tank every spring.

If the tank safety valve does lock up, you need to disconnect the torch's gas fitting from the tank,( This lets the hose, fittings, etc de-pressurize. ) then re-connect with the torch valve closed. I hope they (the propane tank mfg'ers) did this to keep people like me from making REALLY big flames with the tank nozzle.

Donno if this helps, but we bought a 2 bath house with the old,disconnected hot water tank still in place, very close to the kitchen, and laundry room. it had been replaced with a tankless propane (rural) unit, 30 feet from the kitchen and 50 feet from the bathrooms. It was plumbed to the bathrooms first, and in series, thence to the kitchen.
