We love this jewel of Akrons past. We take in three or more shows a year, especially classic rock and music. A super venue with great acoustics. If you see any show on their website you might like,go. You will enjoy yourself and support a great local treasure. On the 3rd Tuesday of each month, you can take a free 90 min. tour of the Akron Civic Theater. Building began in 1926 and was finished in 1929. The tour describes the history and architecture of this grand theatre that was saved from demolition. The interior resembles a Moorish castle and a $20.6 million restoration has been done.
