I've got the Inverter / Charger installed and wired into both generator and the breaker panel for the cabin. The battery configuration is 2 parallel strings of 2 12V AGM batteries. The four batteries are 155AH each. Just before I hooked up the #4/0 cables to all the batteries, I checked the voltages. One string has both batteries at 13.09V.

2019 AGM 12V starter battery discharged to 1.3 volts. Four modern chargers failed to initiate the charge process. A 1990's 10 amp charger is slowly bringing up the voltage however. It is feeding the battery a 16ish volt charge with, I would guess, very low amps. After approx. 8 hours the battery is showing 5.3 volts with the charger disconnected.

For what it's worth: I received a Fullriver FR-1 charger Monday and I have been giving it a workout on 12v, 24, and 48v battery banks. Programmable for 12v, 24v, 36v and 48V with 30 amp output at 12v and 24v, 20 amps at 48v and it has 15 different charge profiles to select from.

I use a number of AGM batteries and charger / maintainers... a lot :-) I'm a motorcyclist (2 bikes), and I have an all electric boat with three batteries. Initially I went the route of one charger and kept moving connections to keep them charged, went to "Battery Tenders" with two charger ports, same issue moving to the third battery.

In 2006 I purchased used Lucent AGM Telco batteries that were designed to float until needed, but not deep cycle. There is one 48 volt string @ 115 AH @ the 8 hr rate. These run my lights and sometimes other loads.
