Escape to the Tarpon Inn in Port Aransas, Texas, With its 200 foot long porches and Key West cottage architecture, nothing outside the Florida Keys will remind you so much of the destination resort made famous by the likes of Ernest Hemingway and Zane Gray.
The Tarpon Inn was built in 1886 with surplus lumber from Civil War barracks. And it was first used to house workers for the Mansfield Jetty (the south jetty for Aransas Pass). After work was completed on the jetty, the building became a hotel-and it's been one ever since.
Pet Friendly Policy: $40.00 Pet fee per pet, per stay required. You will be required to sign & adhere to the Tarpon Inn Pet Agreement upon arrival. Must be at least 25 years old to rent a room. No refunds for early departures. Room maximum occupancy strictly enforced. Check-In time 3:00pm. Check-out time 11:00am
Tarpon scales and fish tales about some of our famous guests. Tarpon scales are quite large-some are as much as 2 to 3 inches across. So they're big enough to write on.
