What are the best select all / deselect all icons [closed]
2015年10月16日 · To make the icons more understandable, they can be augmented with textual labels. If space is truly an issue, some user interfaces compromise by showing all of their icon labels on a single hover (less painful than having to hover on each individual icon). Don't confuse the user , stick to the basics - that is the best way to do your UX.

2004年6月24日 · In Win7, if you select an icon on the desktop, hold down shift, and select another icon, it selects all icons between them in a left to right, top to bottom order. However, whenever icons are sorted, it's top to bottom, left to right. I don't know if it's just me, but this is quite possibly the most counterproductive "feature" ever.

2017年5月19日 · Some folders in the outline may contain many 10s of child items. For some operations a user will wish to select all of the child items in a folder. They currently do this using shift-select. But, for very long lists, this is cumbersome. So, I wish to add a Select all children command to the toolbar (and right-click menu).

2021年10月25日 · The scenario: I'm designing a table that will have both expanders (chevron icons) and multi-select action checkboxes on each row. Expanded, the rows look like this (and will eventually have more data in them.) The user can also delete each row individually via a trash can icon that appears on hover at the end of the row.
Icon for “Remove All” getting confused with “Remove” - how to fix?
Our application has a button to Remove (removes selected item) and Remove All. Currently the icons are right next to each other and look similar; therefore users accidentally have been clicking Remove All instead of Remove. The remove is a single trash can and the remove all is stacked trash cans (like save and save all).

2014年8月31日 · @celtschk If you manually select them all, the button changes to the deselect all state and tapping it deselects all. If you select all items via the button you can individually deselect some. Once not all items are selected it goes back to the select all state and therefore tapping it will select all. Pretty intuitive I think.
