Born and raised in AZ and this is the first time in my entire life I’ve ever seen someone ask about living in Black Canyon City. I don’t think there’s anything there but the pie place and the gas station next to it. I would not live there… I wouldn’t even really call it a town it feels like a side of the highway attraction/road trip stop

Black canyon is a full day depending on what you wanna do. If you are a big biker and like a challenge, get there early and get a permit for Gunnison route. Bring plenty of water and a lunch. Or oak flat, uplands and rim rock trail will take you 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours depending on how long to stop to look at the canyon. It's a beautiful park.
