So i designed a 3U high, 300mm deep 19" case which is compatible with mATX boards but on the back of hte case i have 5 available slots to put a dual slot GPU inside the bottom PCIe slot on the motherboard and have it “overhang” the board.

2020年2月3日 · The HP Rack is overpriced. I am in Atlanta and can always find a 42U Dell Rack with all sides and doors for under $200. Sliding shelves can be found for $20. This may be market dependent but I would think VA has more Data Centers than Atlanta. If you have the room I would jump on the white rack. It has all sides, doors, and square holes.
Server rack rails too expensive. What is poor-man's diy options?
2018年2月3日 · I have 8 rack servers laying on shelves now and this is getting out of hand. I can afford a full height rack cabinet from craigslist that people are basically throwing away. Unfortunately, the rack-rails that I have to buy specific for each server cost at a bare minimum around $65 each - some of them are $80+.

Doesn't seem like too complex a setup, and with a closed cabinet door you'd be cooling the servers and not the whole garage. I know they make 42U height stuffs that go alongside the cabinets, but something in-rack would be nifty. edit: Also, that's a freakin' cool rack.
Anyone build or house a server rack under their basement stairs?
2013年1月23日 · In the early stages of finishing the basement and one of the ideas I've had was to move my rack under the basement stairs. It's a smaller triplite rack with my lab gear etc. I need to get a new rackmount UPS as well. There will be some items on top of the rack so I need to save some room for that. As it stands now this is what it looks like.

2016年6月11日 · When looking on Craigslist or Ebay, also look at sound rack gear. So instead of "quiet server rack" try "studio rack". There are also some DIY build guides on reddit, but it seemed better to me to just buy after getting the initial metal rails and thinking I was about to get myself into too big of a project.
