Christ Church Cathedral is today, as it has been for nearly 1000 years, a focal point of Christian community in Waterford. Our community is made up of people from different Christian backgrounds, Protestant and Roman Catholic, and a number of nationalities - Irish, Nigerian, English, Hungarian, French, German, Tinerfeño, and American.

Tomb of James Rice - Christ Church
James Rice, eleven-time mayor of Waterford, oversaw periods of great prosperity during the fifteenth century. His tomb, shared with his wife Katherine Broun, was housed in its own chapel in the medieval cathedral, and since construction of this cathedral has been moved twice - occupying its current space since 1880.
Organ - Christ Church
Following the retirement of Dr. Eric Sweeney after his 27 year tenure as Organist and Director of Music of Christ Church Cathedral Waterford, we are delighted to announce the appointment of an organist of international standing as his successor.
Bellringers - Christ Church
Regular ringing is our main role. This includes ringing for church services and regular practice ringing. Many other activities help to make up the richness of ringing life at the Cathedral. Any ringers visiting Waterford when we are ringing are welcome to come and ring with us.
