What does “healthy” mean? New guidelines for food labels focus on what we should eat, instead of what we shouldn't.
The idea is to simplify things for shoppers who are confused by nutrition fact labels that don’t give any real-world guidance on whether one product is better than another, the agency added.
The updated definition allows more food to qualify as healthy, including higher fat fish, nuts, seeds, and certain oils.
