When Yury is shot and wounded on the WW1 front line, he is treated by Lara, and their love blossoms - all whilst the Russian Revolution is growing in the background.

Having witnessed his father's suicide, Yury is sent to live in Moscow with his uncle, aunt and cousin. Whilst there, he becomes captivated by a stunning young girl called Lara.
