My view is if electric bikes are in your mind, the place is well too big to do on a non-e-bike, so opt for a driver and a golf-cart-like deal. Sukothai is huge, and if in doubt, don't end up miserable...in addition, the drivers of these carts seem quite knowledgeable...our several have been, certainly. hOWEVER, IF YOU ARE ATHLETIC BIKERS AND ARE SIMPLY LOOKING TO THE E-BIKE TO REDUCE SWEAT, AND YOU DO FIND THEM, GO FOR IT....THE PLACE WOULD DOUBTLESS BE ENHANCED IF YOU BIKED IT ALL! wE'VE NEVER HAD THE TIME, ELSE WE WOULD.

Any person of worth would go there with clothing appropriate to a temple, not to mention the sun is positively relentless there. Wear temple clothes out of respect and to keep the sun off you, or a third of the way into the place, you will be burned, and deservedly so!
