I had to jump in here as a reviewer claimed Kinder Low is not a mountain when it is - it's over 2000ft. No idea why they believe it's not a mountain so if this puts you off going, don't listen. Anyth… Dscross85的完整评论

It is one of my favourite places to visit in the Peak District. Breathtaking views, beautiful vibes, fantastic hiking. We normally start hiking from Kidd Road, Glossop, all the way up to the summit. 779ceyhuna的完整评论

Possibly. The most straightforward routes up onto the Kinder plateau are from Edale. Of those routes, the 'Ringing Roger' route or the 'Grindslow Knoll' routes are the easiest. That said, the height gain will be 1000 feet. You will certainly need to carry the 18 month old. Your 6 year old should be ok if s/he is averagely. These two routes also offer a pleasant circular route - up one - across the plateau along the path then down the other. Preparation is key though. Use the Met Office weather forecast (Peak District Mountain Weather). Take a map (viewranger app is good). Choose a good day! Lots of photos on my fbk page of Kinder Scout. feel free to msg me with any more questions

would like a walk that includes waterfalls can you advise a route, reasonably fit and have proper walking boots
答:
Park in Hayfield, use ordnance survey map OL1. Look for Kinder Reservoir, then walk up past this and you'll find waterfalls, rock formations and a decent hill climb

Hi, can anyone tell me which route to pick with small kids (2,5,7)?
答:
Jacobs ladder, park at Upper Booth, a solid surface and is easy to follow path. A two year old is going to struggle with the terrain and distance.

I usually park at Bowden Bridge car park or side of the road for free parking if I'm doing Kinder Scout from Hayfield end. It is just over 3 miles from the car park to the Kinder Downfall walking past the Kinder Reservoir. It would take approx. 1.5 hours at a steady pace as it can be a little difficult; there are great views along the way. The paths are well trodden and easy to navigate. You could do a slightly different route down to the reservoir to save repeating yourself if you fancy. Hope you enjoy the walk
